I found a quilt in the book. Quilts on the Oregon Trail that has always made me smile. It's an applique tulip quilt with sashing between some of the blocks and not others. The borders don't necessarily match and the flowers are not all the same. The women of the 1800's inspire me the most. They had so little yet did so much for their families. My gramma was born in the late 1800's. She and grampa lived on a farm and had very little. She cooked on a wood stove, made all their clothes and loved to quilt. I must say most of the quilts she made were to keep the family warm, so making a fun game style quilt like this one probably wasn't in the cards for her. Having said that, I do know gramma loved to have a good time; so, perhaps this one would make her smile.
