Pinny ‘n Pa

My second cousins, Ross and Alex Cameron, grew up across the road from where my mom and her family lived. Their grampa was my grampa’s brother. (Actually, grampa had six brothers and one sister, and they all lived in the Cranbrook/Brussels area for many years until Aunt Maggie moved out west.) Ross and Alex were very fond of my grandparents and were usually found in their home. I’m not sure which, but one of the boys couldn’t say Minnie, so gramma was referred to as Pinny. My mom and her siblings always called grampa Pa, so the cousins called him that as well. Pinny and Pa just naturally stuck with them throughout their lifetime, and I do believe it suited them to a T!
