Peter Paul and Aunt Mary

I know the title of this quilt has you thinking of the singing group. Peter. Paul and Mary. but this Mary is a special one, my aunt. This particular child was a special person in my mom's life. You see, before my gramma, Minnie Campbell, married Alan Cameron, he was married and had one child, a little girl, Mamie. Mamie's mom died when she was 7 years old and my gramma went to work for him (my grampa) so she could care for his little girl while he worked. Never liking her name much, she changed it to Mary as she got older. I have asked my mom what it was like to have a half sister, and her reply was that they never considered her anything else but one of their own. Besides, Mary was first, so I guess she was really the one who adopted all the others that came along. She wasn't alone long, however, as there ended up being eleven children in the Cameron household.
