My mother comes from a large family, and she is the baby girl. When my uncle, Jim Cameron, was old enough to court his sweetheart, Emily Marie Coutts, he would bundle his little sister, my mom, into their favorite mode of transportation, either the horse and wagon in the summer, or the horse and cutter in the winter, and off they would go. He would drop my mom off at my other Aunt and Uncle's farm, which was close by, proceed with his courtship, and in the wee hours of the night would go back and pick up my mom so he wouldn't have to travel all the way home alone. Mom would be asleep of course, but she would get up, bundle up and they would sing all the way home. In the winter when it was extremely cold, my uncle could be heard saying, "Horse Feathers, . it's cold tonight!" And so another quilt is born. Lets get started making,
