Gathering Baskets

I'm not sure how often the gathering of vegetables, flowers, wood or whatever took place in the Cameron household, but, I do know from the stories I've heard that perhaps the "gathering" came about when gramma wanted a little time to herself. After all, raising 11 children must have taken its toll a time or two. When I started making this quilt I did think of gramma. She had some wonderful baskets and also an assortment of tin buckets that were used to gather berries, but you've already heard about that in Aunt Ree's Raspberry Jam. She had a wonderful garden and I have a fun picture of my sister, when she was just a toddler, helping gramma and my mom gather vegetables ..... do you suppose she was much of a helper?
