Down the road from where I live in the country, someone is growing sunflowers along an old wooden fence. They are so huge they look like beanstalks reaching up into the sky. My Aunt Robena, who everyone affectionately called Auntie Bean, came to mind and that was the beginning of Auntie Bean's Stalks. It's certainly a lot of fun to design quilts and have family members who are no longer with us take part. I just bet she's smiling down on the sunflowers too.
