Santa Jack

When you are a child, there is nothing more exciting than Santa Claus. Well, being an adult isn't bad either if you really feel the Christmas spirit in your heart. I can remember my mom always saying, to my sister and me, that as long as there is giving in the world, there will always be a Santa Claus. She taught me well, because, to this day, I get as excited about Christmas as any child. While Mom and her siblings were growing up, they had a very special Santa that would always bring them oranges, nuts, hard candies and other special goodies to put in their stockings. You see there wasn't much money in the Cameron family. Gramma made the girls their dolls, and she always made pajamas. mittens and hats for all the children - all things functional to serve a purpose; so. when their Uncle Jack paid a visit, it was always with the fun stuff for their stockings. He would hide all the goodies on top of an old cupboard out on the back porch. Eleven stockings were hung with care so as not to be missed on Christmas moming. Even when the smallest ones caught him hiding this stuff, they never let on. They didn't want this special event to be spoiled.
