Shotgun Wedding

When my Aunt- Ree and Uncle Jtm were married 50 years. family and friends gathered from far and wide to help them celebrate. A mock wedding was performed in their honor; and of course. to make it interesting. the bride was my cousin, Wayne Cameron. He was· dressed in a beautiful long white wedding dress accompanied by a pillow in the front to make him look like he was in the family way. My mom, Edna Cameron Parton, was the groom. She was dressed in pants. coat and top hat. What a lovely couple they made! Of course, if someone is in the family way, the father of the bride, another cousin - Larry Wharton, has to be there to make sure the nuptials take place. There was no question about it􀁕 that shotgun said it all! Being witness to such an event carries certain memories for a long time!
