Barnabus Barnsmell

SCAT! Where's that darn cat?! My cousin, Doug, was an only child, but he lived on a farm and of course was surrounded by critters. He had a dog and a cat to keep him company, but today I'm going to tell you about his cat. Tootsie was a wonderful pet and was certainly loved by most of the toms in the neighborhood. She would bless the Ritchie household several times a year with kittens and of course they were always born in the barn. One kitten in particular caught Doug's eye and he decided he'd keep this kitten to raise. It was a gray tabby cat that grew to be quite large. When asked what he was going to name the cat. his reply was Barnabus Barnsmell of course. Several years later. my aunt and uncle moved from the farm into the city. Since Barnabus wouldn't have been happy there, he lived with my Gramma and Grampa on their farm.
