Stars and Log Cabin blocks have always been a couple of my favorites. I just can't seem to get enough of them. So a friend of mine designed this block just for me. The only prerequisite I had was that she design a block "without inset seams". She named the block "Lynda's Star" and said, "See what you can do with it", so I did. PRAIRIE CHRISTMAS STAR was born. In my mind I wanted this quilt to reflect family and the early 1800's, which is my favorite time period. I wanted to make a quilt that looked like Christmas, my very favorite time of year, but also a Christmas quilt that looked like it could have come from that time period. I hope you enjoy making this quilt. It's certainly one of my favorites, and it's dedicated to my Gramma, Minnie Cameron, and all the ladies she quilted with.
