Big Dipper

Gramma Cameron had a small room off the back porch, which today we might call a mudroom and in this room was an old wooden table next to the water pump. Of course there was a pail to catch the water when you used the pump and there was a Big Dipper for drinking. When I designed this star block it reminded me of Gramma's water pail and dipper and how much fun it was to pump water to drink. I still have that pail and dipper and it sits on an old dry sink that I have in my home. I even bought an old pump to sit on the dry sink so it would look like Gramma's. Memories, aren't they fun?
